Bed Bugs from Hell - Concept Art (1)
Posted on 7 July, 2007 in Bedbugs from Hell
I thought I would put up some conceptual artwork for this film. I’ve always wanted to do a “creature feature” so this should be a good start. I’m thinking this story will be loaded with gore, blood, hardcore sex and the things people seem to be begging me for.
The inspiration for Bed Bug’s from Hell came about while we were thinking up crazy movie titles for a sequence in our film Mail Order Bride where the wacky TV Host Dr. Phobia is discussing the Fright Fest’s lineup for the evening. I wanted to come up with a cheesy spin-off of for a nuclear mutant movie and the title just popped into my head like so many of the others did.
We filmed a few campy scenes for the Bed Bugs in Mail Order Bride, but they were ultimately cut from the final film due to timing issues. There are extremely fast glimpses of the scenes in some of the Bride’s flashbacks, but that’s all we see of it, other than a glimpse of a campy poster while Dr. Phobia is rambling on. It was a shame I had to cut the scene too because it was really fun to shoot. I had a lingerie model covered with glow-in-the-dark bugs and she was rolling around in the bed screaming! I’ll post some shots of the footage later on…

Cinco de Mayo Massacre - Press Release (0)
Posted on 5 May, 2007 in Cinco de Mayo Massacre
Well, it’s official. I am starting pre-production on Cinco de Mayo Massacre. Film treatment is almost complete, the website is up and I already have a few distributors and investors nibbling. This will be an entertaining and original film once it’s completed… I’m not spilling the beans yet, but there will be a ton of sex and gore in this one if I have it my way
Here’s the official Press Release for those of you that misses it:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Steel Web prepares Cinco de Mayo Massacre
San Diego, California (May 5, 2007) - Steel Web Studios is pleased to announce that pre-production has begun on ” Cinco de Mayo Massacre “, our second feature film.
The tale of ” Cinco de Mayo Massacre ” unfolds as a group of college students become lost in the New Mexican desert on their way to a party. They stumble across a secret Native American burial site and unwittingly disturb an ancient Aztec spirit. Hell bent on revenge due to injustices from the past, the spirit embarks on a bloodthirsty rampage through the desert.
The film was originally conceived as a fictitious title for a scene in Steel Web Studios’ short film ” Mail Order Bride “. Soon after the release of the film, fans began to request that the concept actually be made into a movie.
The feature film is inspired by historic events and Latino folklore from the Southwestern United States. Rather than simply exploit the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo, the film will explore some of the darker parts of Spanish/American history, such as the conquest of the indigenous people in the name of religion, while attempting to represent the controversy surrounding the holiday itself.
” Cinco de Mayo Massacre ” will be written and directed by David Quitmeyer, the creator of the notorious erotic horror film ” Slaughter Disc “. David was born and raised in New Mexico, so Mexican, Hispanic and Indian cultures have a heavy influence on him through out his life.
Steel Web Studios is currently seeking distributors, investors, cast and crew for ” Cinco de Mayo Massacre “. Curious individuals may visit the official website for more information: http://www.cincodemayomassacre.com

Sustenance - Official Artwork (0)
Posted on 25 April, 2007 in Sustenance
I created the official poster art for the film today and posted it online. I wanted it to have a “pulp” feel to it, and a design which compliments the other posters for this round of Carnal Morgue shorts. Basically it’s follow the same format as Mail Order Bride, but I switched the angles so that the poster works like a bookend for the series. I think it works.

Mr. Buttons - Completed! (0)
Posted on 1 March, 2007 in Mr. Buttons
I am very happy to announce that Mr. Buttons is complete! Peter has presented all of us with another killer score - pun fully intended - and a new layer of visual effects really helps to pull it all together.
I’m working on a cast party in March and there are a few festivals that I will submit this one too. Other than that, people will have to wait until Tales from the Carnal Morgue is out to see it.
