We once again invaded Tecolote Park to film a few more bloody scenes for the ‘Fright Fest’.

Today’s scenes were especially dear to me because we were able to film a character I created back in my high school days. While there are only a few glimpses of her in this film, ‘Marilyn’ is another character I plan to bring to the screen in the near future. I wrote the original short story Marilyn’s Tale when I was a freshman in high school The story centers around a teenage girl who murders her sexually abusive parents and hitchhikes her way into down a destructive path of sex and violence. In the original story there is a loose relationship between Marilyn and the family that Andromeda Strange comes from, which is all part of a huge cosmic alignment that both Marilyn and Andromeda are simply supporting characters for.

I’ve decided to postpone shooting until after the New Year. I wanted to have the film wrapped by this weekend but I have been busy doing a hundred other things. This will give me some time to put some final alterations on the lead creature’s costume!

It’s also my birthday today, but nobody cares about that

Christ on his mother fucking throne. On top of having the viewfinder go out on my camera, my brand new external hard drive turns out to be defective right out of the box! The company is sending a replacement and hopefully I’ll be back in the editing business soon.

Mail Order Bride - Location Shoots (0)

Usually every dark cloud has a silver lining, but in my case they have an even darker lining.

We were filming some great guerilla location shots all around San Diego today. In between dodging Transit Police and Chargers Fans we managed to get out shots. We also wrapped up some shots in our second apartment location. Towards the end of the shoot the viewfinder broke on my camera! The image became very dark so I was still able to kind of see.

I haven’t had the courage to watch the dailies yet, but I’m sure the footage came out fine. I have a killer backup plan in place if it didn’t come out.

Saturday marked the filming of some very important scenes for MOB. We began filming in the cursed Apartment, has a special delivery from our supernatural RDS Delivery Guy and we wrapped up a series of scenes in an office cubicle. I want to thank Matthew for arranging the office space for us!

Fuck. Mother Fuck! I guess I not only dropped my phone the other night during filming, but some fucker found it and started making a ton of international call with it. What a scum drinking fucker! Luckily the phone was a prepaid number and I barely had a dot of power left on it - so fuck that guy. I purchased a replacement phone and had the other one deactivated. On to bigger and better things.

The curse of MOB begins! I actually shot some great footage over at a friend’s house this evening - footage is always great when you’re filming a naked actress in a shower! The night went bad when one of my actresses turned down a supporting role - a straight and legit supporting role without any skimpy wardrobe or nudity! Luckily this was one of the most popular roles in the film so I have plenty of alternates lined up. The night took a turn for the worse when I lost my company cell phone. Hopefully it will turn up soon.

We filmed our first scene for the KUNT Newscast tonight. It was hard to keep a straight face during takes, but somehow we managed.

I also had my first flaky actor drop out today. Fuck him, there are plenty of others who wanted that role so I was able to replace him in a matter of minutes.

Today was a filming marathon! We began filming scenes for the ‘Fright Fest’, so we filmed in two locations. We battled valuable daylight and a 1/4 mile hike (with gear!) to film scenes in Tecolote Canyon for the ‘Cinco de Mayo massacre’. All of the cast showed up on time and filming seemed to go well! After filming in the canyon we raced to our second location to build a set and film a scene for the ‘Satanic Cheerleaders’. We spilled a lot of stage blood in both locations!

Principle photography officially started on MOB today. We filmed a scene involving an exotic dancer and I must say things went well.
