Happy Birthday to Me (0)
Posted on 11 December, 2006 in News Blurbs
As of today, 33 years have been peeled from my life… who knows how many more seconds until Death is knocking at my door.
Personally, I just don’t see the joy in celebrating a birthday anymore. What is there to look forward to? When you’re a kid you have things to look forward to which are directly related to you age. When you’re 15 you can get that almighty Learner’s Permit; When you’re 16 you can get your Driver’s License; When you are 18 you can vote, join the military, buy cigarettes and porn and get into nude clubs. When you finally hit 21 you can buy booze legally. Fuck, what’s left? When you’re 25 your insurance goes down a notch and in another 30 years you can get a fucking senior coffee at McDonalds. By the time I’m old enough to collect Social Security the entire system is going to be fucked so I might as well give up on ever finding an age to retire at.

For those of you that read this sorry little blog, I have a few Updates. My film Mr. Buttons is almost finished filming. Practically every shot is picture perfect so I think I’ll mostly have a few sound issues to battle with. So far the sound is pretty good. We have great cast and hopefully I can make this film work.
I have also received word that Mail Order Bride will be appearing on Fangoria TV. I signed all the paperwork and sent them their requested materials. People on the Steel Web mailing list will be notified when it’s up.
I’m already planning my other short films for 2007 - One will be called Jack of the Lantern. The other is Aliso Canyon.
Jack of the Lantern is going to be a recounting of one of the many legends of where the Jack-O-Lantern came from. If it all works out the film should be pretty rad. I’m going to film it all against a green screen and add creepy hand drawn and photo shopped backgrounds to it. I’m guessing this film will be about 10 mintutes long.
Aliso Canyon will be a short jump back into the splatter porn subgenre. I’m not telling anybody anythign other than that. It will be a short film, similar to the stuff Burning Angel has done. I think my fans will really like this one as it’s going to be pretty harsh…
Finally, I have started planning my next feature film - CINCO DE MAYO MASSACRE. For those of you that have seen Mail Order Bride you may remember the name being thrown around by Dr. Phobia. Well, I’m here to tell you it’s going to spin off into a full film. Eventually I have plans for making all of the Fright Fest titles int feature film.
Well - that’s about it. I’ll have more news once Mr. Buttons is finished.

Comic-Con was a fucking blast this year. We had a ton of fun hosting our first dealer table there. I was personally amazed at how many people recognized our film and gave us a lot of compliments about it. The other thing that astonished me was the fact people would buy a copy of Slaughter Disc and then come back the next day and rave about how much they enjoyed it. Of course people always want to know about the next film I’m working on. Some get a little depressed when I tell them I’m not going to rush out and make a sequel right away but most everybody respects that.
My next project is called Mr. Buttons and it’s going to be a short film about a mysterious little clown doll. I hope to get it filmed this fall and we’ll include it on the Tales from the Carnal Morgue DVD in 2007.
Thanks for your support, but now I’ve got to get back to work
