Mail Order Bride Premiere (0)
Posted on 16 May, 2006 in Mail Order Bride
Well, after almost 9 months of work, Mail Order Bride made it’s premiere on Saturday. The crowd seemed to like it and most importantly the cast and crew love it. I will always be critical of my own work, but then again this is the first project where I’m not cringing left and right when I watch it. Gine the almost non-existent budget for the film, I’m pretty damn happy with it. I’m racing to make a few last minute edits and get the press kit finished off for a few festival deadlines in June. I’m not sure when the film will be for sale on DVD, but it will start appearing on VOD sites very soon.
On a personal note, the family and I had a great time hanging out with our close friend Caroline before and after the premiere. Sunday we embarked on a relaxing road trip up to Julian, CA for a stop at King Leo for some candy and a slice of heavenly Dutch Apple Pie from the Julian Pie Company. It was a great feeling knowing we were done busting our asses so we could just relax for a while.
Mail Order Bride - Premiere Party (0)

The Premiere was a blast! We had cast, crew, friends and complete strangers from MySpace show up for our 4 hour party. We showed the film twice andI was happy that people laughed and grimaced at the proper places. After watching the film on the big screen at Dave & Buster’s there are a few more tweaks to the sound I have to make, but overall this motherfucker is 99% done.
Mail Order Bride is Completed! (0)

Mail Order Bride is finally done! Peter has created an amazing and haunting score for the film which sends chills up my spine when I listen to it. I’m a little nervous about the premiere tomorrow - I’m always afraid nobody will show up after I’ve dropped a chunk of cash renting out a private theater. I’ll watch the film with Caroline tonight and make the last few tweaks tonight.
Mr. Buttons - 1st Draft Completed (0)
Posted on 4 May, 2006 in Mr. Buttons
I have completed the first draft of the Mr. Buttons screenplay. I have always been a fan of scary clown dolls, so now it’s my turn to take a stab at it - heh heh heh - yes, the pun was intended. If you’ve seen my porn flick Clown Porn: The Movie, then you know how crazy and creepy I like my clowns to be! Fans of Slaughter Disc will have to hold their breath a little longer for the Splatter Porn to ooze under their fingernails.
Right now I don’t foresee this film really having any sexual overtones. Sure, I could force in a fuck scene and a gratuitous tit shot for you to jerk off with, but what would I really be accomplishing?
I originally wanted this project to be a silent black and white film, but after the first draft of the script was completed I realized I had yet again created a great new character to entertain you with. A five-minute silent film may look creepy, but personally I have a very hard time with this short film crap - I’m going to shoot for a 30 minute festival version and maybe go a little longer for the directors cut. Fuck, it’s just words on paper as of right now, so it will be interesting to see how this monster grows.
My biggest problem with writing short films always happens when I type “The End” and I still have a million ideas swirling around in my head - usually this is the point in time when I say “Fuck it, let’s make it a feature” then I look at the bank account and it’s near null balance helps reinforce the notion in my skull that it’s best to stick to shorts right now.
